Good to know
Yes — the city centre, beach and main family attractions are all within a 3-mile radius. Castles, Royal Deeside and dolphin spots are easy half-day add-ons.
Hilton Garden Inn (pool, family rooms, free kids' meals) and Aberdeen Altens (big rooms, free parking, indoor pool) are the most-booked options for under-10s.
Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Aberdeen Art Gallery, the Esplanade beach, Duthie Park, Hazlehead Park and Torry Battery dolphin-watching are all free.
Torry Battery on the south side of the harbour mouth is the best free vantage in the UK. Pods feed at the entrance most mornings on a rising tide.
